Meet Elisa Riley, an Clinical Nurse Consultant based in Tamworth.
I was born in Adelaide and spent my early childhood in Darwin before relocating to Sydney at the age of eight. After completing high school, I pursued a Bachelor of Nursing at university. Following my graduation, I seized the opportunity to travel, which led me to work in a variety of roles over the next five years—none of which were related to my nursing qualification.
Eventually, I returned to Sydney and decided to focus on a career in nursing. I began working at the Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) Spinal Cord Injuries Unit, where I discovered my true passion for patient care. I had the privilege of working alongside a dedicated and supportive team who balanced exceptional patient care with a positive work environment. During my time at RNSH, I also completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Spinal Cord Injuries, further solidifying my commitment to this specialty.
In 2005, I moved to Tamworth for personal reasons, a decision I consider one of the best I’ve made. I’ve now been happily married for 18 years and have two wonderful children.
Most recently, I have been fortunate to join the team at Focus on Function in their first nursing role within this dynamic organisation. I am excited to contribute my skills and experiences while continuing to grow in this field.
