Be the best version of you: Focus on Function provides a Wellness Day so team members are valued, the best version of themselves and looked after.

We want to be proactive in looking after our team! So they can be the best version of themselves for their family, friends, our team and communities.

We value our team and the brilliant work they do.

We value our team members' families and how they turn up for their families everyday!

We value the roles and relationships our team members have outside of the workplace, including friendships and volunteer roles.

Considering we value this so much we are offering our team members a ‘Wellness Day’. This is a paid day off per year to do something for you! This is in addition to all other leave entitlements.

Here are just a few reasons why we have made this decision:

Team members look after themselves: The wellness day is aimed at team members to do something for themselves. Typically, health professionals or people in the caring roles need a little nudge to put themselves first.  This might be a medical check up, massage or a simple quite rejuvenating day.  This helps keep team members well, so they can be the best they can be for themselves, their family and friends ….. and the communities we serve.

So we can serve our communities better: Looking after people ensures they can work at their best. People who are looked have increased focus, creativity, and efficiency meaning better outcomes for the communities we serve. This also means increased job satisfaction and increased time in the industry of enhancing lives in rural communities.

Enhanced Job Satisfaction: Being valued in the workplace and encouraged to have a break contributes to job satisfaction which in turn has a positive impact on the work delivered. This helps team members enjoy their work, stay in the industry longer, and serve our communities longer.

In summary we need to look after our team and selves so we can continue to serve our communities in the long term. We, at Focus on Function, want to be proactive in ensuring team members are their best version of them selves!

How to support experienced clinicians transitioning to the wonderful world of Private Practice

It’s the transition to the new and unfamiliar language of the NDIS. It’s the frequently changing rules and templates that keep us on our toes. The commitment to the ever changing funding body requirements is imperative to embrace and support your team with. Respecting the experienced clinician to conduct great assessments is crucial in building confidence. A multi facet approach with systems, templates, direct support, review of complex case studies and professional development is my ideal suggestion.
