We’re excited to offer a new service using the InterX 5002 Professional device to support people in managing ongoing pain.
This is one of our newest pieces of equipment, and we love it! It has quickly become a go-to treatment for many of our clients. It’s safe, gentle, and often provides immediate relief—especially for those who haven’t found success with other pain management approaches.

InterX can be used for acute, chronic, and hypersensitive pain, making it suitable for a wide range of people—including those with complex disabilities and neurological conditions.
Some examples of how our neurological clients present with pain include:
- Chronic pain such as shoulder pain from pushing a manual wheelchair or poor posture when sitting in one
- Acute pain from overreaching or poor body mechanics
- Hypersensitive pain due to spinal cord injury, stroke, or acquired brain injury
- Muscle tightness and pain associated with reduced use of an arm from stroke, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, or trauma
Reducing pain is always a priority, as it directly impacts movement, participation, and overall lifestyle.
- It can provide immediate reduction in pain and improved range of motion
- It can help relieve nerve pain or burning pain not managed by medications or injections
- It may reduce reliance on pain medications that cause side effects like constipation, fatigue, or liver strain
- It’s non-invasive, safe, and well-tolerated
- It can be used alongside other therapy treatments as part of a broader rehabilitation plan
- Referral and Funding
Once we receive a referral and funding approval, we’ll book a comprehensive initial assessment. - Assessment and Suitability
This session helps us determine whether InterX is appropriate for your needs. - Medical Team Involvement
If InterX is recommended, we’ll send our assessment and plan to your GP or pain specialist to ensure they agree with its use. - Ongoing Treatment
Once approved, we’ll schedule ongoing sessions tailored to your goals and pain type.
- We purchased the InterX 5002 Professional because we’ve seen how debilitating pain can be, especially for people with catastrophic injuries.
- Pain impacts everything: sleep, mood, relationships, bowel care, participation in the community, and more.
- InterX allows us to offer a non-invasive, evidence-informed treatment that can significantly improve quality of life—right here in our local community.
